Triathlon Part III- Taqueria Nacional

Now for the final leg of the triathlon is a small, little known taco place off G Street, in walking distance of Capitol Hill. Its hours leave much to be desired- this place involves the pre-exam splurges instead of late night runs. But when we can get out to this place like we did Thursday, boy is it worth it.

Taqueria is a flavorful oasis in the bureaucratic heart of America. Blasting Latin music reminiscent of Spain and Mexico, it serves a number of flavorful tacos of a number of varieties, including, but not limited to, beef, pork, chicken, fish, and chorizo tacos. I have tried almost everything (but the fish) and everything is good. (everyone else says the fish is great...) Now this isn't Taco Bell- nothing is meant to make you full. (Granted we buy enough that we end up that way anyway) But it's all about the superior texture and flavor of the meat with these tacos.

Beef!
Pork!
Chorizo!

That day I got Beef, Pork, and Chorizo. The beef and pork are both tender and juicy, it's like eating lechon in a tortilla. But the chorizo, highly seasoned, is really hard to beat. Any of these tacos covered in the salsas they give is simply irresistible. Nothing beats Taqueria.

Even Coca-Cola looks better here...

Alas, this marks the end of our triathlon. So much good food in one day, it was ridiculous. No better way to spend a day than with friends and food. Lots and lots of food.
